Your workspace currency: auto-detected, yours to change early
Every price you record needs a currency. OuttaScope makes a starting guess for you at signup based on your device's own time zone, so you are not asked to pick one before you have even seen the app -- and Settings always lets you correct it, right up until your first extra.
How the guess is made
At signup, your browser already tells OuttaScope its time zone (the same signal used to show dates and times correctly). If it is a Canadian time zone, your workspace starts on CAD; every other time zone starts on USD. Nothing extra is collected -- no location permission, no IP lookup.
Change it in Settings
Open Settings > Business and change Currency to USD or CAD at any time before you have captured your first extra. The change takes effect immediately for every price you calculate on your own extras and jobs from that point on. It has no effect on your OuttaScope subscription itself -- Solo, Crew, and Team are always billed in CAD, no matter what your workspace currency is set to.
Why it locks after your first extra
Once a single extra exists, your workspace currency is locked. Each extra's price is recorded with the currency that was live at the time, and mixing currencies inside one workspace's history would make every total and export ambiguous. If you try to change it after that point, Settings tells you plainly why it is refused rather than silently ignoring the change.
Picked the wrong one before you started?
If you have not captured a real extra yet, just change it in Settings -- there is no separate reset step. If you already have real extras in the wrong currency, contact support; this is a genuine exception, not something the app changes for you.
What happens next
Check Settings now if you are not sure which currency your workspace started on -- it is free to fix before your first extra.
